After several nuclear explosions occur across the United States, the
residents of the small town of Jericho, Kansas are isolated from the
outside world and must come to terms with a new and different reality.
A nuclear mushroom cloud appears on the horizon -- and for the residents of Jericho,
a small Kansas town, it could mean they're the only Americans left alive. Fear of the
unknown propels Jericho into mayhem, causing the town to come apart at the seams.
Secrets are revealed, personal agendas take over and even the most sensible people
become paranoid. But even in a time of crisis, some folks will find an inner strength
they never knew existed, causing them to emerge as the most unlikeliest of heroes.

June 02, 2007 - Efforts To Revive The Jericho Series
CBS officially announced Jericho's cancellation on May 16, 2007.
Several online communities, including the official Jericho forums,
have launched campaigns in an effort to revive the show.
The largest petition claims to have over 100,000 electronic signatures as
of June 2, 2007. Fans have also sent tons of nuts to CBS headquarters,
in a reference to a scene in the final episode where Jake Green repeats
General McAuliffe's historic phrase "Nuts!" from the Battle of Bastogne.
In a response posted on the Jericho forum, CBS president Nina Tassler
acknowledged the fan response, stating "we hope to develop a way to
provide closure to… the Jericho story." Jericho producer Karim Zreik
has reported that "there's a chance that moreinformation might come
out after the Memorial Day holiday."
There are no plans, however, to bring back the show, despite what CBS
officials acknowledge is the largest campaign it has seen using digital
means to protest a show cancellation.
CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves admits to filtering emails from
Jericho fans, while senior vice president of communications Chris Ender
says, "You have to tip your hat to their ability to get attention and
make some noise."

June 06, 2007 - The Jericho Series Will Return Next Season
"Jericho" fans who slammed CBS with protests over the drama's cancellation
have won the battle: It will return next season, the network said
Message From CBS Entertainment.
To the Fans of Jericho: Wow!
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably
unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television
series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have
been heard.
As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year.
In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,”
we will need more viewers.
A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show.
But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS
Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where
we make the show available.
We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the
same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.
At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho”
will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several
initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences.
This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and
clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the
first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital
world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have
them so you can pass them on.

Seven episodes have been ordered for the second season of Jericho.
They are expected to begin airing at some point in or after January 2008.
The episode order may be extended based on ratings. Airdates are T.B.A.

Set a short time after the incidents with New Bern, a new federal government
out of Cheyenne, WY, aids Jericho in rebuilding. The new government, however,
has a secret agenda.

episodes will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, ET/PT beginning Feb. 12.
