* Lincoln Park BMX Fundraiser Ranks No. 2 In Nation.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 12/07/2022
Some friendly competition and generous hearts earlier this year helped local BMX riders raise more than
$6,800 to help battle cancer. Their efforts put Lincoln Park BMX riders among the top fundraisers in the
nation. The Race For Life awards ceremony was held on Nov. 25 in Tulsa, Okla., as part of a multi-day event
at USA BMX Grand Nationals. Races, held locally in mid-June, raises funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

* East Idaho BMX Opens Indoor Track In Bingham County.
Pingree, Idaho USA -- 11/22/2022
Its been nearly 30 years since Bingham County has played host to a BMX track. Now, the sport is
making its return to the area because of the efforts of East Idaho BMX. They are opening a new
indoor track the will be in a central location for all riders in Eastern and South Eastern Idaho. The
indoor Track is in Pingree, and East Idaho BMX president Derek Smith says finding a location
for the track all went done pretty quickly.

* Lincoln Park BMX Track Operator Sean Coleman Named State Volunteer Of The Year.

For all of his hard work, Coleman, the track operator and president of the Lincoln Park BMX, was
honored this past week as the 2022 Washington State Volunteer of the Year. Coleman received the
award at the Washington Festivals and Events Association banquet held in Bellevue on Nov. 2.
Coleman admitted he doesnt necessarily like to talk about himself. Its definitely humbling, he
said. Im quite humbled and flattered by the whole thing. Its not why I do it.

Mostly due to the popularity of e-bikes, the risks and exposures bicycle retailers face are much
greater than 15 years ago. E-bikes are not a new exposure, but now every major brand sells them
and there are countless new e-bike brands. Most carriers that insure bicycle retailers are not
comfortable with e-bikes. Often, they dont specialize in insuring bike shops and have chosen not
to renew any retailer that sells e-bikes.

* Parents Of Girls In Fatal E-bike Crash Settle; Rad Power Files Cross-Complaint.

A Los Angeles judge has approved a $1.5 million settlement between the parents of a 12-year
-old girl who died following an e-bike crash and the parents of the 11-year-old girl who was
piloting the bike. The e-bikes maker, Rad Power Bikes, opposed the settlement and has filed
a cross-complaint against the parents of the surviving rider.

The National Bicycle Dealers Association sent a letter to federal regulators this week
asking that they make a statement regarding UL certification of e-bikes sold in the U.S.
By coincidence, the Consumer Product Safety Commissions was already releasing a
statement the very same day.

* CPSC Urges E-Bike Importers And Manufacturers To Comply With UL Standards.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission urged manufacturers and importers of e-bikes
and other micromobility devices to comply with relevant safety standards, including ULs
2849 standard. The CPSC sent the letter to more than 2,000 manufacturers and importers.

* E-Scooter, E-Bike And Hoverboard Injuries And Deaths Are On The Rise.

E-scooters, e-bikes, and hoverboards have grown in popularity among Americans in recent years,
as a way to get to and from work or school, or for fun. A new report released today by the U.S.
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) finds that emergency room (ER)-treated injuries
and deaths with these products are also increasing. In light of the spike in injuries, CPSC reminds
consumers to use caution and safety with these devices.

* CPSC Finds Micromobility Injuries Rose 127% Since 2017.

Injuries involving micromobility devices including e-scooters, hoverboards and e-bikes were up
127% between 2017 and 2021 according to a new report by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The CPSC report also counted 48 deaths involving the products last year, including 23 deaths involving
e-bikes. The total number of micromobility device fatalities was up from just five in 2017.

* E-Scooter, E-Bike And Hoverboard Injuries And Deaths Are On The Rise.

From 2017 to 2021, injuries spiked 127 percent to 77,200 for micromobility devices, and the number of
deaths rose from 5 to 48.* E-scooters had the highest percentage increase in injuries and accounted for
68 deaths in the same time period. Consumer-owned e-scooters accounted for most ER visits (56 percent),

Seatac, Washington USA -- 10/26/2022
Seatac BMX welcomes riders from 18 months to 80 years old. --- This Evening Field Trip outing filled
at least a couple of our hosts with complete dread. At first I was really excited about this, Angela Poe
Russell said. And then I saw the track. That track is the newly refurbished course at SeaTac BMX.
Its impressive. And impressively scary. I have a bit of a strange phobia about BMX biking, she said.

* $71,000 Raised In Lincoln Park BMX Fundraiser.
Port Angeles, Washington USA ( Peninsula Daily News ) -- 10/25/2022
The Lincoln Park BMX Park raised $45,164 for the Benny’s Lap-a-Thon fundraiser. Bruch and
Bruch Construction matched the lap-a-thon with $25,000 of its own for a total of $71,164 raised in
the event. David Benny Benoff is one of Lincoln Park BMXs main volunteers. He suffered a stroke
in July and has a long road to recovery, including extensive ADA improvements to his home. The
top four riders in the fundraiser were Kylin Weitz, $2,500, first; Cash Coleman, $2,480, second; Tim
Hutto, $2,186, third; and Russell Gaither, $1,650, fourth. More than 3,900 laps were ridden by
all the riders for Benoff.

* Canby 10-Year-Old Is Rising Star On National BMX Racing Scene.

The USA BMX DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals, held on Sept. 16-18 was a huge success for the
Port Angeles community according to local and national organizations. Nearly 8,500 people from
11 different states attended the three-day event hosted by the Lincoln Park BMX Association and
the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department. USA BMX expressed its gratitude toward the
Port Angeles community that opened its arms to riders from out of town with countless welcome

The Lincoln Park BMX Track was exceptionally busy all weekend, hosting more than 500 racers from 11
states who competed in nearly 250 races for the BMX USA Pacific Northwest Gold Cup finals. Track Operator
Sean Coleman said 547 individuals competed with about 120 motos (races) each hour. Many riders competed
in multiple events each day. A total of 447 riders competed in 94 motos Friday, 681 riders in 129 motos
on Sept. 17 and 664 riders in 122 motos on Sept. 18.

Riders from Lincoln Park BMX in Port Angeles recently traveled to Spokane to compete in the Washington State
BMX finals in early September. These riders and others are set to compete for Gold Cup plates at the DK NW
Gold Cup Finals in Port Angeles, Sept. 16-18. Sequim riders included Trinity Gather (first in 17-20 Womens
Cruiser; second in 17-20 Girls Expert) and Christian Snavely (third in 14 Novice).

* Port Angeles To Host BMX Gold Cup Finals Sept. 16-18.

Port Angeles Parks and Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association in conjunction with USA BMX will host
the 2022 DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals on Sept. 16-18. The competition will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and include
participants of all ages. Both event parking and spectator entry is free. Food will be available at the site. The
three-day competition is expected to bring 1,500 riders to the track and up to 5,000 visitors to Port Angeles area.

* Snake River BMX holds Idaho State Championship Race At Sandy Downs.
Idaho Falls, Idaho USA -- 09/01/2022
BMX riders from across the state gathered August 25 through 28 at Snake River BMX at Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls.
The race determined final standings for 2022 and crowned champions across a number of different age groupings.
The race brought out teams of riders and individual riders, giving them a venue to show an enthusiastic audience
what they can do. The BMX season runs through the end of October (depending on the weather), so theres still time
to get some track time for yourself or your kids.

* Wenatchee PD Looking For Man Who Stole Students Bike From Pioneer Middle School.
Wenatchee, Washington USA -- 09/01/2022
Wenatchee police are looking to identify a man who stole a bike from outside Pioneer Middle School in Wenatchee.
On just the second day of the school year, the man stole a students lime green Trek Marlin 5 bike from outside
the school. Police say the suspect appears to have a beard and was wearing a dark shirt, shorts, dark shoes, a
dark hat and a black backpack. We need your assistance to get this deserving student his bike back, Wenatchee

News From Fyshwick, Australia ( Sport Integrity Australia ) -- 09/15/2022
Sport Integrity Australia acknowledges the decision of AusCycling to impose a three-month ban on athlete
Raina Beesley for the presence of a metabolite of a prohibited substance. Ms Beesley returned an Adverse
Analytical Finding (AAF) from an In-Competition doping control test on 19 December 2021. Her sample was
analysed at the Australian Sports Drug Testing Laboratory, part of the National Measurement Institute which
detected the presence of a metabolite of a prohibited substance, namely 11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-
9-carboxylic acid (a metabolite of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)). ( More )

USADA announced today that Lucas Howes, of Scottsdale, Ariz., an athlete in the sport of BMX, has accepted a
three-month period of ineligibility for an anti-doping rule violation. Howes, 24, tested positive for 11-nor-9-carboxy-
tetrahydrocannabinol (Carboxy-THC), a urinary metabolite of ?9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive
constituent of cannabis, marijuana, and hashish, above the urinary Decision Limit of 180 ng/mL, as the result of a
sample collected in competition at Elite BMX Nationals on May 15, 2022. Cannabis, marijuana, and hashish are
Specified Substances in the class of Cannabinoids and are prohibited in competition under the USADA Protocol for
Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee National Anti
-Doping Policy, and the International Cycling Union Anti-Doping Rules, all of which have adopted the World Anti-
Doping Code and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. ( More )

* City, Pump Track Fans Celebrate New Way To Have Fun.
Quincy, Washington USA -- 08/31/2022
Quincys new pump track got a grand opening event Thursday, bringing out families with bicycles – and at
least one scooter – to celebrate the new recreational amenity in the citys East Park. The pump track has
been open since end of June. Its open when the parks open, so anybody can come out here anytime, A group
worked with the city of Quincy to create the track, replacing a smaller worn-down BMX track on the site.

* BMX Racing 378 Racers Compete At Lincoln Park More Expected For NW Finals.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 08/30/2022
In a bit of a dry run for the Pacific Northwest Gold Cup Finals to be hosted at the Lincoln Park BMX track,
the track this weekend hosted double-point and triple-point state BMX qualifiers, bringing 378 riders in 78
motos in to town for Saturdays triple-point races. Twice as many adult and youth riders are expected for the
Gold Cup Finals to be held Sept. 16-18.

* The Nations Biggest BMX Track Event Is Coming To Town.

Port Angeles Parks & Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association, in conjunction with USA BMX,
will host the 2022 DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals on September 16-18. The competition, held at the Lincoln
Park BMX Track, will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and include participants of all ages. Both event parking
and spectator entry is free. Food will be available onsite for purchase. The three-day competition is expected

* Snake River BMX Hosts BMX State Championships Hopes To Bring It Home Next Year.
Idaho Falls, Idaho USA -- 08/28/2022
After a bright and successful year the Snake River BMX Club plays host to the Idaho BMX state championship
races. The races kicked off with the ceremonial Flag Raising lap. Where all of the competitors did a lap on
the track while the national anthem played. Followed by the balance bikers taking the track for a quick run.

* Lincoln Park BMX To Hold State Qualifiers.

The Lincoln Park BMX track will be holding state qualifier races at its track Friday and Saturday,
a preview of the Pacific Northwest eight-state Gold Cup finals being hosted by the track Sept. 16-17.

* Indoor BMX Track Promotes Safety Of Sport.
Port Orchard, Washington USA -- 08/17/2022
The family-run Peninsula Indoor BMX track in Port Orchard hosted an open house recently with the hopes
of exposing youth to the sport and putting old stereotypes to rest. Up to 40 young riders showed up with their
parents to the only indoor BMX track in the state, which to the plain eye would just be another shed off the
rural streets of town. Co-track operator Joel Moore, along with his wife Erin, said the hiddenness of the
track is similar to how BMX remains a hidden sport.

* Race For Life Raises More Than $4,000 In The Fight Against Cancer.
Moses Lake, Washington USA -- 08/07/2022
Moses Lake BMX hosted its Race for Life event, part of a 600-point weekend with fellow BMX tracks in
Spokane and Coeur d Alene. The event raised money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with riders raising
money on their own and pooling it together. The event turned out great, Track Operator Jeff Niehenke said.
We had a great turnout; we raised a ton of money. The track had a goal of raising $1,500 for the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society, and more than doubled that goal. Our goal was $1,500 for the track, and we raised $4,027.

* Umpqua Valley BMX Hosts Big Crowd For State Qualifier.
Dillard, Oregon USA -- 08/02/2022
Umpqua Valley BMX hosted a state qualifying event Saturday, which brought out 188 BMX riders and 46
motos. Everybody had fun, track operator Mike Cummings said. The feedback was tremendous among all
riders. Cummings had taken a step back from the track two years ago, but came back because he didnt want
to see the track closed. He said the need for alternative sports is huge in the area.

* Race For Life Coming To Moses Lake.
Moses Lake, Washington USA -- 08/01/2022
Moses Lake BMX will be hosting its annual Race for Life on Friday, August 05th, 2022 raising money for
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This is annual, we do it every year, Moses Lake BMX Communications
Director Bethany Beck said. Its just a good way to build sportsmanship and raise money for the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society, and gives the kids purpose with their riding as well, Beck said.

* Gold Cup Qualifiers Bring BMX Bikers From All Over To Sandy Downs.
Idaho Falls, Idaho USA -- 07/11/2022
Sunday morning just behind the Sandy Downs Rodeo Arena, BMX riders from all over the North
West United States came to Idaho Falls to race for the next major race in the circuit the Gold Cup.
Hosted by the non-profit Snake River BMX Club. The track at Sandy Downs is a new to the area.

* Pump Track Opens.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 07/08/2022
Kids on BMX bikes, mountain bikes, skateboards and scooters waited patiently through a grand opening
ceremony of ribbon-cutting, remarks and recognitions, so they were more than ready to try out the new
pump track Wednesday at Erickson Playfield. First announced three years ago, the 14,442-square-foot
pump track is the largest in the Pacific Northwest built by Velosolutions and it’s the first adaptive track
in the country. Port Angeles Parks & Recreation and Lincoln Park BMX Association led the project,
which will provide a free, safe and all-ages recreational outlet located in the center of the city.

* Largest Pump Track In Pacific Northwest Opens Wednesday In Port Angeles.

A new pump track in Port Angeles opens Wednesday, July 06th,2022. Organizers of the track will hold
a grand opening ceremony at 5:30 pm at the track at Erickson playfields. A pump track is a circuit
of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders pumping generating
momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing.

* Local BMX Track Brings In Riders From Around State.
Moses Lake, Washington USA -- 07/04/2022
The Moses Lake BMX Association began hosting bi-weekly races at the Larson track, welcoming riders
of all ages. With a newly-installed track, the Moses Lake BMX Association has begun hosting races twice
a week, taking place on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. at the Larson BMX Track.

* Port Angeles Pump Track Opens Next Week.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 07/02/2022
The largest Velosolutions pump track in the Pacific Northwest, and the first public adaptive track
in the nation, will open in Port Angeles on Wednesday. The grand opening of the 14,442-square-foot
pump track will be at 5:30 p.m. at Erickson Playfields, which is on Race Street across from Civic Field.
After the grand opening, which is free and open to the public, the track will be opened for public use.
The city of Port Angeles Parks & Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association worked together.

* Work On Pump Track Proceeds.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 06/28/2022
The track, designed primarily for bicycles and other wheeled play vehicles, is being constructed by the
Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department in conjunction the Lincoln Park BMX Association with
funding from a $350,000 grant from the state Recreation and Conservation Office, $100,000 in lodging
tax grants from the city and Clallam County, business sponsorships, individual and community donations
and a grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Organizers have scheduled a grand opening
for the facility for 5:30 p.m. on July 6.

* BMX Track Officially Returning To Cottage Grove.
Cottage Grove, Oregon USA -- 06/23/2022
The Row River BMX group gets the green light from City Council. - Following a unanimous decision by the
Cottage Grove City Council during the June 13 meeting, the BMX bike course that once sat on Row River
Road will return to its original site. The new track will be available to the surrounding community for
recreational and competitive purposes. A local group called Row River BMX will head up the project and
partner with USA BMX, a 45-year-old corporation that organizes races and helps build tracks through the
United States. They are the worlds oldest sanctioning body for BMX racing.

* Lincoln Park BMX To Host USA BMX 2022 Gold Cup Finals.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 06/22/2022
Lincoln Park BMX and Port Angeles Parks & Recreation announced recently the park will host USA
BMX 2022 Gold Cup Finals, set for Sept. 15-18. The competition will include participants of all ages
who will be here to compete in this Gold Cup Northwest Series and will be presented by DK Bikes.

* BMX Racing For Life Fundraiser Raises More Than $6,600.

The Lincoln Park BMX Track held its annual Race for Life Fundraiser this past weekend with funds
going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. The track raised more than $6,600 this year.

T.J. Farris of Bakersfield, Calif., an employee of the Flims, Switzerland-based Velosolutions, uses
a compactor on Tuesday to create a lane surface on an asphalt portion of a pump track being built at
Erickson Playfield in Port Angeles. The track is expected to be completed by late June or early July.

An unusually rainy spring made for lots of work at McCollum Pioneer Parks BMX track to get it ready
for the racing season that kicks off Sunday, weather permitting. McCollum Parks track near Everett,
called Bigfoot BMX, is the only one in Snohomish County sanctioned by USA BMX. In total there are 11
in the state, with the next-nearest courses in Mount Vernon and SeaTac.

* Walla Walla Valley BMX Hosting State Championship Race Event Saturday.
Walla Walla, Washington USA -- 06/01/2022
BMX riders of all ages, and some from as far away as California, are expected at the Fort Walla Walla
Park track Saturday, June 4, for its annual State Championship Race starting at 11 a.m. Admission is
free for spectators on the bleachers, and the track has plenty of room for lawn chairs. Walla Walla Valley
BMX is one of more than 300 tracks around the country sanctioned by USA BMX, and the annual SCR
here draws several riders competing for points in a season series.

The Russian troops destroyed Lyman BMX Arena, The Lyman arena with the special BMX track was unique
biking complex in Ukraine. The Russian troops destroyed the administrative building of the compound and
caused significant damage to the unique starting ramp and BMX track with springboards and curved corners.
The bicycle complex with a specialized BMX route was the only one of its kind in Ukraine. It was built last
September. Now this complex has become another military target of the Russian army.

* Hillsboro 5th-Grader Headed To France For BMX World Championship.

Deegan Russell has taken the local BMX racing scene by storm. Usually 5th graders are still trying to
figure out life, but this 10-year old is taking life by the handlebars. Despite only racing for 2 years
of his life, hes already got quite more than a hundred races under his belt. The Hillsboro native is
speeding towards the biggest race of his life this summer at the UCI World Championships in France.

* Port Angeles Pump Track Project Seeking Volunteers May 25-June 1.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 05/20/2022
Preliminary site work is nearing completion at the Erickson Playfield Pump Track, and volunteers are
sought for the next portion of the project: asphalt installation set for May 25 through June 1. The city
of Port Angeles Parks & Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association have partnered to bring
a pump track, a rolling series of looping paths that offer a way for kids and adults to build bicycling
skills in a contained environment away from traffic, to the site in central Port Angeles.

* Community Comes Together For Richland Teen Diagnosed With Brain Cancer.
Richland, Washington USA -- 05/20/2022
Lana McDowell, a 13-year-old Richland teen, was diagnosed with brain cancer this less than a year ago.
The community is gathering together with a fundraiser for her this weekend. Columbia Basin BMX Track
fundraiser is called Race for Lana, in hopes to raise enough money to help the family continue Lanas treatment.

* Pumping Up The Fun.
Quincy, Washington USA -- 05/18/2022
Q: What is special about this track, its design or features? What about it will be a lot of fun for riders?
A: Its large size is what makes it special. I haven’t done the research yet. But I suspect this is the largest
pump track in the state. Speed will be the fun factor. As riders skills improve the track will ride very fast.
About half of the paths of the new pump track in Quincys East Park had been paved as of Friday May 13th.

* Quincys New Pump Track Takes Shape, Gets Paved.
Quincy, Washington USA -- 05/18/2022
About half of the pump track paths were paved with asphalt last week. Paving was to continue Monday.
When it opens to the public, the pump track is expected to become an attraction for experienced bicyclists
as well as younger, smaller children on bikes and scooters. An opening date had not been set. The paved
track will not wear down like the dirt track at the old BMX course did. A BMX track is designed to pedal
and sprint at features (jumps and rollers) and turns. A pump track is best ridden without pedaling. Your
forward momentum is created by pumping your bike through the rollers and features.

* Lincoln Park BMX To Host Gold Cup Finals.
Port Angeles, Washington USA -- 05/04/2022
Lincoln Park BMX and the Port Angeles Parks and Rec Department announced this week that they will be
hosting the USA BMX Gold Cup finals on Sept. 15-18. The competition will include participants of all ages,
who will come from all over the Pacific Northwest to take on the Lincoln Park BMX Track. This event is
expected to bring a total of 2,000 racers into the community for three days of competition.

As if the newly-constructed Dream Playground wasnt enough, things are about to heat up once again at
the Erickson Playground in Port Angeles. Starting Monday, the Parks & Recreation Department and the
Lincoln Park BMX Association are set to begin construction of the new Pump Track.

* 10-Year-Old Hillsboro Boy Looks To Become World Champion.
Hillsboro, Oregon USA -- 04/11/2022
10-year-old Deegan Russells journey to becoming a BMX world champion started with a Christmas gift
from Santa. From that bike moving forward, Deegan has been all go and no breaks. His dad Shwan nicked
named him The Rocket after seeing the speed he had on the track. Deegan started racing BMX towards
the end of 2019. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and Deegan qualified for Worlds at a race in Santa Clara,
California. The 2022 UCI BMX Racing World Championship is being held in Nantes, France in July.

* New BMX Track Coming To Sandy Downs.
Idaho Falls, Idaho USA -- 04/06/2022
BMX riders now have a new venue at Sandy Downs thanks to a partnership between the Idaho Falls Parks and
Recreation Department and the Snake River BMX Association. During a recent City Council Meeting, council
members unanimously approved a lease agreement between the City and Snake River BMX to use a designated
area at Sandy Downs. With the approval of the lease agreement, the non-profit organization will offer a location

* Lincoln Park Face Life Set To Be Completed By Fall 2022.
Wenatchee, Washington USA -- 04/06/2022
City of Wenatchee is kicking off construction for the Lincoln Park remodel with hopes for completion by fall.
The remodel will even out to $3.5 million. Once every 40 years you need to update your park, said Wenatchee
Mayor Frank Kuntz. Weve got a bunch of grant money and the citys in for about a $1.5 million in general fund
dollars. Were excited for it. The remodel includes a new kids area, a new stage, the addition of a pump track
and full size soccer field. A Frisbee golf area will also be installed during the remodel. Construction will be
underway throughout the summer.

* BMX Pedals Back Into Practice At Smith Rock.

More than 85 riders took to the dirt of the Smith Rock BMX Park on Friday night, helping to christen an improved
track in the first race of the 2022 season. Everyone is excited, said track operator Seth Tassie. Its great to be out
here and have everyone back. We put a lot of work into this. Tassie estimates he spends 30-35 hours a week at the
track - shaping obstacles, keeping dust down, performing maintenance and chasing away trespassers.

* Island Residents Voice Concerns, Support Regarding Citys Bike Skills Area.

Conversations regarding the usage and renovation of the Bike Skills Area (BSA) at Mercer Islands Upper
Luther Burbank Park dont always have the participants seeing eye to eye. As the project rolls along, the city
and park conservationists are eager to see how the area will be transformed and hopeful it will make a positive
impact on the community. -- Since Oct. 7, 2021, the area has been shuttered due to significant operating
challenges and safety concerns, including unauthorized course expansion and construction of new trails which
deteriorated copious vegetation and large jumps that exceeded the posted guidelines, according to the city.

* Decked Out In Green; Leprechaun Race Held At BMX Track.
Richland, Washington USA -- 03/19/2022
If you saw a leprechaun today in Richland, heres why. Today was the leprechaun race at the Columbia Basin BMX
Track and everyone was encouraged to wear green. The Leprechaun race is just something fun we wanted to do,
said BMX biker Chris Cline. Its not St. Patricks day but it gives everyone a chance to come out and sport their
green. We have a leprechaun racing today, he's fully decked out. Just a fun time with the family.Cline says he
started BMX racing four years ago after his daughter picked up an interest in the sport. Now, he and his family are
at the track at least once a week. The manager of the track said they hope to add more themed races every month.

* Washington Legislature Passes Largest State Bicycling Infrastructure Package.

The state legislature here passed its largest bicycling infrastructure and bike education funding bill
Thursday The $1.2 billion Move Ahead Washington transportation package will include protected bike
and pedestrian infrastructure, multi-use trails, a new statewide public school bike education program,
and the Safe Routes to Schools program, which encourages children to walk and bicycle to school.

* New Track Taps Into A Popular Biking Trend.

The East Park Pump Track will replace the old BMX track in Quincys East Park. The idea is to build the track
this spring, and volunteers are welcome to help. City workers have already begun clearing the site. A month
ago, they removed the thick concrete pad that was at the top of the starting mound of the former BMX track
The pump track will provide a different riding experience. The track will be paved and have more features.

* Quincy City Council Gets Update On Bike Track Project.
Quincy, Washington USA -- 03/09/2022
The East Park Pump Track concept took another step toward becoming reality with a long presentation and
discussion at Quincy City Councils meeting on March 1. Parks planning, stood and facilitated a discussion
about the pump track, which is planned to replace the old BMX track in Quincys East Park. He showed slides
on the several screens around the council chamber. Council was shown design concepts for the new bike track.

* Lumberyard Bike Park Will Close This Fall After An Amazing 10 Years.

Owners of the Lumberyard Bike Park announced today they plan to close the doors their doors in August.
The 60,000 square-foot former bowling alley on Northeast 82nd Avenue has served as an indoor cycling
paradise for a broad spectrum of riders since it opened in May 2012. Co-owners Will Heiberg and Michael
Whitesel made the announcement Wednesday in a message that thanked members and fans.

* City of Wenatchee Okays $160,728 For Lincoln Park Pump Track Paving.
Wenatchee, Washington USA -- 02/21/2022
Wenatchee City Council is moving forward with a payment of $160,728 to construction company,
KRCI, for the paving of the Lincoln Park dirt pump track. This cost was included in the construction
cost estimate. When you approved the construction contract…we had shown in the budget that this
change order would be coming, said David Erickson, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services director.
Because of the way we bid the project, we have to do it as a change order. The city is opting to pave
the dirt area for long term maintenance reduction and the possibility of a multiuse amenity. The project
to revamp the park hasnt started yet.

* Washington States King County Decriminalizes Helmet Use.
Seattle, Washington USA ( BRAIN ) -- 02/18/2022
The King County Board of Heath repealed a 29-year-old mandatory bike helmet law Thursday, citing
evidence of racial and anti-homeless bias in its enforcement. According to the Cascade Bicycle Club
— which urges all cyclists who can afford a helmet to wear one and offers free and low-cost helmets
to the public — no conclusive data exists showing that bicycling is safer in cities with helmet laws.

Construction for the remaining elements of the Lincoln Park remodeling project. David Erickson with the City of
Wenatchee said the final phase of the project will include in part a bmx pump track, at least two group shelters, a
new stage, a more open play area, and a splash pad. Construction expected in spring and end around Halloween.
